Wondering how you can be most effective as a neighborhood council?
Need help getting motions in your neighborhood council passed, and wondering about the value of community impact statements (CISs), and how to get them submitted?
Want to learn more about how policy gets made at City Hall?
Bring YOUR questions and come join us for a conversation with:
- Dan Kegel, chair of the NCSA energy committee
- Josh Nuni, legislative director for Councilmember Nithya Raman (and founder of the Progressive Neighborhood Council Alliance)
- Rita Moreno, legislative assistant at the Office of the City Clerk
Afterward, we will discuss a motion (introduced by Councilmembers Koretz, de León, and Raman) that would help move the city toward carbon neutrality (without offsets!) by 2030 and encourage neighborhood councils to each provide at least two Cool Block leaders in order to implement climate change mitigation efforts at the hyper-local level. You can learn more here. (The council file number is 21-1042.)
All stakeholders of the city of LA are welcome—please join us!
