It is often said that a budget is a reflection of our values. Is the City's budget reflecting ours? After two years in a row with tough fights regarding the City's budget, we will sit down with experts both inside and outside of the City to discuss how to better engage with the City on the budget.

Matt Hale, Deputy Chief of Staff for Budget and Finance Committee Chair Paul Krekorian, will help us understand the ins and the outs of the budgeting process and how we can better ensure that our values are reflected in it.

We will also discuss public banking, which has huge implications for how the City spends its (our) money and for the environment.

The NCSA advocacy committee recommends supporting the public banking motion, which instructs City offices to obtain consulting services needed to establish a public bank, and we plan to discuss and vote on this. Representatives from Public Bank LA will join us.
