We will start off the evening with discussion and two votes among our LANCSA voting body recommended by our advocacy committee: 1) whether to support Councilmember Raman's motion on gas-powered leaf-blowers and 2) whether to formally join the fight (which started in our advocacy committee) against artificial turf.

1) Gas-powered leaf blowers

2) Artificial turf

Our advocacy committee recommends we support a city-wide ban or moratorium on artificial turf.

Time permitting, we will do some additional networking before the candidate forum.

Then, we will host a candidate forum for City Council 14. We are excited to announce that Genny Guerrero, Teresa Y. Hillery, and Eduardo "Lalo" Vargas have confirmed their participation. Ysabel Jurado withdrew Friday, Nadine Diaz withdrew Saturday evening, and Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo's team said they would let us know but haven't yet. We haven't heard from either Assemblymember Miguel Santiago or Kevin de León.

LANCSA and Pico Union NC board member Aurora Corona will moderate the conversation.
